The Glass Shop is equipped to support scientific research and teaching. The glass shop can design, fabricate, manufacture and repair & customize scientific glass apparatus to meet the needs of the scientific community.

Equipment

The Glass Shop is equipped with:

  • one large and one medium glass lathe
  • a diamond cut off saw
  • wet drill press
  • annealing oven
  • cork borer bench
  • lathe burners
  • a variety of hand torch sizes

Shop supplies consist of standard tapered, joint, o-ring joints, hi vac. and standard stopcocks, graded seals, fritts, and plate glass.

Fees

There is no charge for labor; however, materials are billed at cost plus 15%.
